I always imagined that my wedding was going to be huge. Not for anything fancy or elegant, but full of friends and family. And without a doubt that is important and beautiful, but my focus was on the people who complemented that day. And I think I had that in mind because I didn’t understand that all I really needed is God and the love of my life in front of me. And now that I found you Sol, I finally fully understood it. And the funniest thing is that now I will have a daily reminder next to me, in front row.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When I think of you, I can only feel grateful for the person you are and for the person I am with you. I always tell you, there is no Charlie more Charlie than the one you bring out. And I just want you to keep doing it always, how do you do it? Let me explain: You know that I love your name, right? But more than your name, I like your nickname: Sol (Sun). And that’s how you get the best out of me while just being you. The Sun, bringing light and warmth to my days. And I love that about you, I am so lucky to be able to say this to my best friend face to face, in this place, at this moment. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Do you remember just a few moments ago that I was talking about the big wedding with friends and family? Well, part of me still wants that, but for the following reason: I want witnesses. I want people to witness what I want to promise you. I want to have people close to our family to whom we can show how much we love each other, to whom we can reflect Christ’s love for the Church, to whom we can teach that we are disciples of Jesus for how much we love each other.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And something funny is that today we are accompanied by a lot of people even if it is virtually, with whom I want to be accountable so that they help me to be the best man that the best woman in this world deserves. And then, these are the promises that I want to make to you today:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sol, my love:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. I want to be your best friend always. I want you to tell me everything. I want to hear you laugh with my bad jokes. I want to listen to you. I want to advise you when you ask me. I want to be your best complement and that person who becomes your home.<\/li>
  2. I want you to be my best friend always. I want to tell you everything from Saprissa to my geek stuff. I want to laugh while we make faces. I want you to listen to me and advise me. I want you to continue being my best complement and that person who is my home.<\/li>
  3. I want you to be the Sol most Sol-ish that there could be. Yes, we are getting married. Yes, we are now one family, one flesh. But I want you to never forget who you are: Marisol S\u00e1nchez Cubillo, a daughter of God, a daughter, sister, friend, professional and incredible person. And I want to be there to encourage you to get to wherever you want to go as the spectacular woman you are.<\/li>
  4. Before this year, I did not consider myself as someone who takes many risks, but the truth is that not everyone gets married in the middle of a global pandemic, and I love the fact that we are next to each other in this moment. So I promise to be with you on our most uncertain days and on the most “regular” days, assuring you of something: That I will love you each of the rest of my days.<\/li>
  5. I want you to be my forever number 2. I always promise to seek to honor and love the Lord first of all with my heart, my soul and my strength. And then I promise to love you as myself. I want to serve you and honor you. I want to wash your feet (and yes, even with massages included).<\/li>
  6. I want to promise you that as a family we will continue to work for the Kingdom. Nothing like enjoying that privilege with the best person at my side.<\/li>
  7. And to conclude, I can promise you that I’m definitely going to make mistakes. Many times sadly. But at the same time I promise you that I will always try to be humble and lower my head, because more than being right, I am more interested in knowing that I have you happy by my side.<\/li>
  8. In short, I promise to love you and be for you 24\/7, 365 days a year from here to infinity. In good and bad. In pandemics and non-pandemics. But we go together as a team.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n
